Tourist Information

Polzeath Beach has become more known over the recent years and if you visit you can see why, its golden sandy beach and beach vibe town gives you a classic California surf feel. The beach is great for surfing and at low tide the beach becomes around half a mile in all directions which makes it perfect for the family but beware of the incoming tide as it just leaves a short patch of sand left.

Polzeath beach is one of the safest along the North Coast with it having seasonal lifeguard cover along with great facilities and water quality you would expect from a Blue Flag beach another attraction is the on-beach parking. Just located north of the Camel Estuary and just 2 miles from Padstow and Port Isaac just north. This area is thriving with Marine life and bird life with regular dolphin, seal and the odd puffin spotted too.

Swimming

Polzeath Beach is an ideal spot for swimming during calm days. However, it’s essential to assess the conditions before entering the water. For added safety, consider swimming in pairs or groups and make sure you are within the lifeguards’ view.

Polzeath Beach toilets are located towards the rear of the car park area, and additional facilities are available towards the town center. Toilets are closed during dusk.

Rockpools

You and the family can enjoy finding marine life in rockpools at Polzeath Beach for sure, the best rockpools uncover at low tide and are filled with creatures from crabs to prawns and even someones fish! The Polzeath Beach rockpools are located either the left side or right side of the beach.

Low Tide

Low tide at Polzeath Beach is the best time to visit as it opens the beach to a larger expanse of sand making it perfect for family fun. The back of the beach at Polzeath Beach is generally quieter and is a great spot to find small rock pools filled with small marine wildlife.

High Tide

High tide at Polzeath Beach can cover the entire beach but to be sure there is a beach when you visit a regular tide in Cornwall is around 5.2m to 5.7m but on larger tides especially spring tides you can expect Polzeath Beach to be quite dangerous if there are spring tides mixed with bigger waves so please be careful and always check the tide times at Polzeath Beach.

By Foot

By Car

Accessible via coastal path from either Daymer Bay, Greenaway Beach or Rock Beach area within a short walk away.

By Bus

from Bodmin take the A389 or A39 to Wadebridge, then follow the B3314 (signposted to Polzeath). At the mini-roundabout, turn right to stay on the B3314, and continue until you reach the bend to Port Isaac. Turn left (signposted to Polzeath) and follow the road to Polzeath or New Polzeath.
