Maenporth Beach is located in West Cornwall and situated just south of Falmouth. This beach is a vast golden sandy beach perfect for the family to come have a beach day here, with plenty of rock pools for the children to explore Cornish marine life it really is one of the best family beaches in Cornwall. Low tide a wreck appears out of the water, this wreck is named Ben Asdale and you can see it clearer whilst Sailing, Kayaking or doing water based activities. Parking is right by the beach along with facilities you need to spend the day here.

Swimming

Maenporth beach is an ideal spot for swimming during calm days. However, it’s essential to assess the conditions before entering the water. For added safety, consider swimming in pairs or groups.

Meanporth Beach toilets are located towards the rear of the beach. Toilets are closed during dusk.

Rockpools

You and the family can enjoy finding marine life in rockpools at Maenporth Beach for sure, the best rockpools uncover at low tide and are filled with creatures from crabs to prawns and even someones fish! The Maenporth Beach rockpools are located either the left side or right side of the beach.

Low Tide

Low tide at Maenporth Beach is the best time to visit as it opens the beach to a larger expanse of sand making it perfect for family fun. The back of the beach at Maenporth Beach is generally quieter and is a great spot to find small rock pools filled with small marine wildlife.

High Tide

High tide at Maenporth Beach can cover the entire beach but to be sure there is a beach when you visit a regular tide in Cornwall is around 5.2m to 5.7m but on larger tides especially spring tides you can expect Maenporth Beach to be quite dangerous if there are spring tides mixed with bigger waves so please be careful and always check the tide times at Maenporth Beach.

By Foot

Accessible via coastal path from either Swanpool Beach, Gyllyngvase Beach or Helford area within a short walk away.

By Car

Take the A390 to Truro from the east or west, then follow the A39 towards Falmouth. As you approach Falmouth, pass the reservoir and at the Hillhead Roundabout, take a right turn (signposted to Mawnan Smith). Continue on this road for about 3 miles until you reach Maenporth.

By Bus
