A popular family beach, Holywell Bay is a lovely 1 mile-long stretch of golden sand that sand dunes back onto it and is sheltered by towering headlands making it the perfect place to relax with the family and enjoy the peace that comes with Holywell Bay. The beach is known for its two islands which create an impressive backdrop, this has been featured in various TV shows but the most noted one is Poldark.
Loe Bar beach is located in between Porthleven and Poldhu Cove and is one of the largest natural freshwater lakes in Cornwall and the sandy bar is what separates that and the sea. This was originally a mouth of the River Cober which lead to an old harbour in Helston but by the 13th century the bar cut off the connection between the both and made the harbour redundant. The bar is made up mostly of flint although it is uncertain where this comes from as the nearest onshore source is over 120 miles away. There is also a reasonable extent of sand between the Pool and the bar.
Longships Lighthouse is located in West Cornwall offshore from the famous Lands end attraction. This lighthouse has stood the test of strength and resilience since 1875, battled heavy storms and many ships have been stranded amongst the rocks in stormy seas.
