Polperro is located south of Looe. A small Cornish seaside town steeped in great history, from its fishing heritage to a smuggling haven for pirates, with its small back alleys and accessible caves to move the untaxed goods around. Now the town of Polperro is a beautiful quaint village whose narrow streets and pretty cottages remain undeniably attractive. Many of the cottages are covered with beautiful flowers in the summer. The winding streets are so narrow they are forbidden to cars, so using the century-old footpath to explore is ideal.
Bamaluz Beach is located in the heart of St Ives and is one of the lesser known beaches, situated between the harbour and Porthgwidden. The beach offers sheltered cover with high walls which can also block out the sun, the only thing at high tide there is a small beach left which can fit no more than maybe 15 people on and in spring it can almost disappear from your very own eyes. This beach is also just below the famous St Ives Museum. Bamaluz is a fairly friendly family beach but there is no lifeguard cover or much room for the children to play and there isn’t really any surf here apart from when there’s big northerly Atlantic swells.
Longships Lighthouse is located in West Cornwall offshore from the famous Lands end attraction. This lighthouse has stood the test of strength and resilience since 1875, battled heavy storms and many ships have been stranded amongst the rocks in stormy seas.
