Looe is split by the River Looe, both towns are joined together by a bridge across the river, in Medieval times both towns were separate with East Looe having the harbour and main shopping center while West Looe is quieter but also has small corner shops, restaurants, and hotels. The bridge that joins them was constructed back in 1853, replacing the bridge built in the 15th century.
Gwithian Beach is a part of the longest beach in Cornwall, the total length comes to around 4 miles of golden sandy beach and great for families with tons of space and features all through the beach including rock pools filled with Cornish marine life. This beach is also very popular with surfers giving perfect conditions for all types of waves from beginners to long time surfers. A famous surf spot if called ‘Sheep Dips’ which refers to a large pool formed between two big sets of rocks.
Treyarnon Rock Pool is located in North Cornwall situated near Treyarnon Beach. This popular seaside beach attracts many of Cornwalls visitors being one of the 7 bays in North Cornwall along with Constantine bay beach and Harlyn Bay Beach.
