Polperro is located south of Looe. A small Cornish seaside town steeped in great history, from its fishing heritage to a smuggling haven for pirates, with its small back alleys and accessible caves to move the untaxed goods around. Now the town of Polperro is a beautiful quaint village whose narrow streets and pretty cottages remain undeniably attractive. Many of the cottages are covered with beautiful flowers in the summer. The winding streets are so narrow they are forbidden to cars, so using the century-old footpath to explore is ideal.
Crantock Beach is a great expanse of beautiful golden sand situated between the Pentire and West Pentire headlands. At high tide the beach filters through making the Gannel Estuary which has diminished since it was previously a port. Crantock beach is a great place for the family with lots of space, generally calm seas and much of the beach backed by sand dunes protecting you from the off shore wind. At the south end of the beach are high cliffs providing even more shelter from the wind.
The Mousehole rock pool is located in the Cornish fishing village of Mousehole. This tidal pool offers a beautiful panoramic views of Mount’s Bay and across to St Michael’s Mount and even further to the Lizard Peninsula.
