Truro is the only city in Cornwall, its Cathedral towering above the skyline with its green spire and gothic aesthetic. The Cathedral was built at the start of the 1900s 250 feet in the sky with great big Victorian stained glass windows and the south aisle is one of the finest pieces of medieval architecture in Cornwall. Originally a market town and port way back over 800 years and boomed with the rest of Cornwall during the tin mining era.
Porthtowan is another great example of a Cornwall beach and another golden sandy beach on the North Coast. During low tide Porthtowan nearly doubles in size stretching to around 1.5 miles which joins up with Chapel Porth and the cliffs of the famous Wheal Coates engine house. Porthtowan is set amongst cliffs which means theres great cover from wind along with that this beach is great for the family offering plenty of room for acitivites with the children including the rock pools that are uncovered at low tide!
Longships Lighthouse is located in West Cornwall offshore from the famous Lands end attraction. This lighthouse has stood the test of strength and resilience since 1875, battled heavy storms and many ships have been stranded amongst the rocks in stormy seas.
