Carbis Bay is a hot spot in the summer for tourists, the beautiful sandy postcard beaches with the turquoise sea bring in all the second homeowners back to lovely Cornwall to admire everything it has to offer. Located just one mile off St Ives, Carbis bay is an ideal spot for families with toddlers as the sea in the bay is perfect for swimming but not great for the surf. During low tide, this opens up Porthkidney sands where you will find the RSPB bird sanctuary, an important habitat for the sea birds.
Tolcarne Beach is one of the bigger beaches which at low tide connects all neighbouring beaches together. Tolcarne is a steep walk down and the beach backs on to high cliffs which can protect you from the wind. At low tide it joins up with Great Western and Lusty Glaze but at high tide is cut off so please check tide times when visiting. This beach is a great family friendly beach but being located in Newquay it can get busy during summertime as its great for the family but please be careful as the cliffs are eroding at a fast rate so we advise not to sit underneath them if you can help it!
St Levans Well is located in West Cornwall near the beautiful beaches of Porthcurno beach and Pedn Vounder beach the two top rated best beaches in Cornwall. St Levans Well is a mysterious well along the south west coastal path where many walkers, hikers and runners enjoy a sit down and view across or down to Porthchapel beach and sometimes you’ll spot the local sea kayaking club.
