CornwallOne has built a large and growing image library showcasing Cornwall at its best. Our images are here to help local businesses, organisations and partners promote Cornwall in an authentic, respectful way.
This guide explains how you can use CornwallOne images as part of a partnership or membership.
We ask that CornwallOne images are credited wherever reasonably possible.
Standard credit:
Image: CornwallOne
On social media, tagging @CornwallOne is encouraged.
Who owns the images?
All images in the CornwallOne library are either:
- Taken by CornwallOne, or
- Shared with us by trusted photographers and creators
The images aren’t “sold”, but licensed for use. That means the photographer or CornwallOne keeps ownership, and you get clear permission to use them in agreed ways.
About our photographers
Many images come from local photographers, and we take protecting their work seriously.
This means:
- Some images may have small restrictions
- Very occasionally an image may be removed from the library
- If that happens, we’ll help you swap it for something similar
If images are used without credit
If CornwallOne images are shared or published without the required credit, this will be treated as unauthorised use.
In these cases, CornwallOne may:
- Apply a retrospective licence fee
- Issue a fixed fine per image
- Require immediate correction or removal of the content
- Review or suspend image access
Fines are applied to protect our photographers and the value of the image library, not to penalise honest mistakes. Where possible, we will always contact you first to resolve the issue quickly.
Honest mistakes
We understand that things can be missed.
If an image is used without credit by accident, correcting it promptly when contacted will usually resolve the issue without further action.
Repeated or deliberate misuse may lead to fines and removal of image access.
When credit is not required
Some partnership or freedom-of-use licences do not require image credit. This will always be confirmed in writing as part of your membership.
If you’re unsure whether credit is needed, please check before publishing.
Quick reminder
Using CornwallOne images without credit, outside your agreed licence, or after access has ended may result in charges.
If in doubt — ask first. We’re always happy to help.
Optional short-form notice (for dashboards / download pages)
Image credit required: CornwallOne images must be credited unless your licence states otherwise. Uncredited use may result in retrospective licensing fees or fines.
CornwallOne is about collaboration, not catching people out.
Our image library exists to support Cornwall’s businesses, places and communities, as long as images are used fairly and respectfully, we’re always on your side.
